Today, I hit a video store that was going out out of business. I scored a collection of the best of the early years of SCTV. I got to thinking: there must be some of the these on Youtube. Enjoy! This is why I love to edit stuff: take two VERY different shows-- one full a gripping tale of survival and brutality; the other about people in a paper company regional office. These two clips use editing and music to set most of the tone-- but swap the footage. The result is a amiable journey through space; and an operatic clerical world. vs.

You can ANNOTATE videos! This is so cool! You can add notes, links and speech bubbles. Expect to see me using this a great deal!

Here is edit #4-- shorter soundtrack and more footage. I have almost all of the material that we can use. The trick now: tweaking the stills and compositing the different layers of material. I haven't gone nuts: the most I have is 4 layers at any one point.

Sunday night, I was lucky enough to see the Blue Man Group live. They were awesome. Wanna sample? Look no further than YouTube...

I decided to re-do a video I did for the Sinnead O'Connor song, Fire on Babylon to the images from Babylon 5. Did you know that later this year, there will be new Babylon 5 available? Babylon 5: The Lost Tales .

I heard about this cool company called " Cambrian House ." It's a start-up that creates start-ups. They use "crowd sourcing" to take ideas from concept to launch. One of their early products is the " Robin Hood Fund ." It's like a 50-50 draw, with a splash of democracy. You sign-in with your idea and chip in to register. The others see your concept and vote for it or for someone else's concept. It's a cool idea. I got in on an early drawe and votes for the one thing I wanted that I couldn't get myself: a better Christmas for my Mom, niece and nephew. Their finances suck. I try to help, but with whatever I do, there is always room for more. So, I asked for "A Good Christmas" for the Mom. I let it be known to my friends that they could vote for my Mom's cause. They did and we won. So, I distributed $200 amongst them. Today, I put together a video of the hand-off of the cash. Enjoy! Did I mention that I was a fan of Robin Hoo...
